2. A YouTube video on Impressionist painter Henri Matisse:
As a draughtsman, printmaker, and sculptor, but principally as a painter, Matisse is one of the best-known artists of the twentieth century. Although he was initially labeled as a Fauve (wild beast), by the 1920s, he was increasingly hailed as an upholder of the classical tradition in French painting. His mastery of the expressive language of color and drawing is apparent, in a body of work spanning over a half-century, and won him recognition as a leading figure in modern art. The first painting of Matisse acquired by a public collection was Still Life with Geranium in 1910, exhibited in the Pinakothek der Moderne. Today, a Matisse painting can fetch as much as US $17 million.

Hello again Andrea.
I just wanted to send you a note to let you know how impressed I am with your dedication to Candian art. As a collector, I spend at least an hour a day on the internet looking at new artwork from a myriad of sites all over the world. I have probably seen over one million pieces of new art in the last few years. I also try to read as much as I can in terms of commentary, reviews, and all things art related.
I have to say that you put out more material on a daily basis here than any other single source on the net. I don’t know where you get the sustained energy.
Of course I don’t always agree with you, but I respect your passion and commitment.
Just wanted to let you know.
Cheers
