Confluences: Rencontre entre Montreal et le Bas-Saint-Laurent

Musee Regionale de Rimouski

Should you find yourself in Quebec this summer, this exhibition seeks to bring together a rencontre between Montreal and the lower St. Lawrence. The show looks promising!

NO VACANCY: a disappearing history
July 1 – August 2, 2009
Viewpoint Gallery, Halifax

Meanwhile, Viewpoint Gallery in Halifax will show photographs by Angela Carlsen that document five local abandoned structures: the former Chronicle Herald building, Greenvale School, Dartmouth Marine Slips, St. Joseph’s Church, and the old Halifax Infirmary.

Carlsen – importantly – aims to capture some of Eastern Canada’s architectural history before these buildings are destroyed. It’s worth seeing if you’re in the area.
