Like any celebrity worth his salt, erstwhile Canadian bad boy artist-provocateur Terence Koh has gone and gotten married. In his mother’s wedding dress. In the Hamptons.
True to his reputation, he went for extra drama, adding $50 worth of tulle for a 30-foot train to the dress.

Interestingly, Koh has turned the wedding into a piece of performance art. By parodying the ritual with all best intentions, he’s managed to demonstrate how, for many, grand weddings have become pure spectacle.
Koh’s boyfriend Garrick Gott wore a white tuxedo and waited in a tree for Koh, who arrived in a white canoe. Canoes are hot, we notice. The event took place in the garden of art patrons and collectors Phil and Shelley Aarons, but since New York state does not allow gay marriage, it’s not legal.

The guestlist of illustrious non-celebrities included Julian Schnabel offspring Vito and Stella Schnabel; Olivier Sarkozy, brother of French President Nicolas Sarkozy; and Deitch Projects gallery director Kathy Grayson.

Just saying is all…
“with all best intentions, he’s managed to demonstrate how, for many, grand weddings have become pure spectacle.”
Swap “Terence Koh” with “grand weddings”! Zing!
