So she didn’t win the Sobey Art Prize this year…but Shary Boyle has won the 2009 Iskowitz Prize from the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Awarded for her outstanding contribution to visual arts in Canada, the $25,000 Prize includes an exhibition of her work at the AGO in 2010.

Hi Andrea,
The prize is actually awarded by the Gershon iskowitz Foundation, not the AGO. The Foundation now partners with the AGO, and recipients exhibit there, but the prize itself is the legacy of Gershon Iskowitz through the foundation he started. Watch for a book on the history of the prize 1986 to 2006 coming this December!
